Fixfox is a sci-fi adventure game featuring Vix, a space mechanic. Vix crash-lands on a mysterious planet where tools are forbidden. Accompanied by her trusty toolbox Tin, Vix travels across the planet Karamel discovering hidden pirate stashes, repairing friendly household appliances, and sampling tasty local delicacies.
The game was formerly named SPACR.
The main tester of the game originally focused on speedrunning, a gaming discipline aimed at achieving the fastest possible playthroughs of games. This significantly increased the efficiency of FixFox testing.
The FixFox fan community is working on translating the game into 15 different languages, including Japanese, Finnish, and Persian.
The composer of the music soundtrack used several types of string instruments during recording, including a historical mandolin. For one composition, he even incorporated elements of Tibetan throat singing.
The game employs the procedural generation (predefined elements are randomly combined using certain rules, resulting in a unique outcome each time). The generated terrain, characters, and some puzzles are therefore slightly different with each playthrough of the game.
The studio initially underestimated the need for marketing, launched the campaign late, and struggled with a lack of finances.
